KS1 enjoys Children's Mental Health Week

We took part in lots of activities designed to promote wellbeing and mindfulness.

During 'Children's Mental Health Week' we participated in a range of activities with good mental health in mind.  Throughout the week we had many activities in place.  Some of the activities offered were bubble blowing, making dream catchers, friendship bracelets and so on.  Hot chocolate and cookies were on offer in some classes while others enjoyed a walk in the fresh air to Pioneer Meadows. We thought about how important it is to be kind and respectful towards others and made buckets after listening to the story ' Have you filled a bucket today?'.  The story helped us to understand that it is far better to be a bucket filler (with kind words and actions) than a bucket dipper (with mean words and unkind behaviour)  We were lucky enough to have a medatation session with Miss Smith.  We practised mindfulness and learned some breathing techniques.  It has been a great week!
