Key Stage 1 are SCOOTER SMART

Key Stage 1 pupils practised safe scooter skills during a Scooter Smart session!

Our Key Stage 1 pupils took part in the Scooter Smart session, an exciting and educational session focused on learning how to ride scooters safely. The children were enthusiastic and engaged as they discovered important ways to stay safe while enjoying their scooters.

During the session, pupils learned:

  • How to avoid obstacles and navigate safely.
  • How to stop sensibly to prevent accidents.
  • How to cross the road safely when using a scooter.

One key safety rule they practised was crossing the road correctly. This involves:

  • Stopping at the kerb.
  • Getting off the scooter.
  • Walking sensibly with both feet to one side of the scooter until they reach the other side.

This method helps prevent tripping over the scooter while crossing and ensures children stay in control at all times.

The session was a fantastic opportunity for pupils to build confidence and develop essential road safety skills. Well done to all our young riders for showing great listening and teamwork!
