Modeshift Stars

We are proud to hold the Modeshift STARS Outstanding Award, recognising our commitment to promoting active, safe and sustainable travel. Through a range of learning opportunities and whole-school initiatives, children are encouraged to consider the benefits of walking, cycling, scooting and using public transport wherever possible.

Led by Miss Haywood, pupils take part in a variety of activities throughout the year that promote road safety, environmental awareness and healthy lifestyles. Children learn how to use scooters safely, develop their understanding of sustainable travel and explore ways they can reduce their impact on the environment.

To support active travel, we provide secure scooter pods and bike shelters for pupils to use. We also participate in Travel Smart Weeks and other national initiatives that encourage children and families to make sustainable travel choices. These experiences help pupils develop a sense of responsibility for their health, their community and the wider environment.
