Afterschool clubs
Our after-school club programme provides children with opportunities to discover new interests, develop talents and enjoy experiences beyond the school day. We offer a wide range of clubs throughout the year, designed to cater for different ages, interests and abilities.
From sports and physical activities to arts, music, wellbeing and special interest clubs, our programme helps children develop new skills, build friendships and grow in confidence. Participation in extra-curricular activities encourages teamwork, perseverance, leadership and a sense of belonging within the school community.
We are committed to ensuring that all children have access to enriching opportunities that broaden their experiences, nurture their interests and support their personal development, helping them to become confident, well-rounded individuals.
Cooking Club
Our Cooking Club provides children with the opportunity to develop practical life skills while exploring healthy eating and nutrition. Through preparing and cooking a variety of recipes, children learn to follow instructions, measure ingredients safely and work collaboratively with others. The club helps to build confidence, independence and creativity, while encouraging children to try new foods and develop a positive relationship with healthy eating.
Revision Club
Our Year 6 Revision Club runs twice each week and provides pupils with additional opportunities to consolidate key skills and knowledge in reading, SPAG and mathematics. Sessions are designed to strengthen understanding, address misconceptions and build confidence ahead of the end of Key Stage 2 assessments. The club also helps pupils develop effective study habits, resilience and independence, preparing them for the increased expectations and demands of secondary school.
Sports clubs
We offer a range of sports clubs, including activities such as football and netball, which enable children to develop their physical skills, teamwork and sportsmanship. Children also have opportunities to represent the school in competitions and festivals against other local schools. These experiences promote confidence, resilience and a sense of pride, while encouraging healthy and active lifestyles.
Choir
Children in Years 4, 5 and 6 can take part in our choir, delivered by the Derby & Derbyshire Music Partnership. Choir members develop their singing skills, musical knowledge and performance confidence while working together as part of an ensemble. The choir provides opportunities to perform for audiences throughout the year, helping children build self-confidence, teamwork and an appreciation of music and the performing arts.
