Early Help

At Dallimore Primary and Nursery School we have the pupils and families at the forefront of our minds and work hard to provide Early Help to our school community. From October 2019, we have been providing Early Help through school. We work alongside a variety of agencies and provide support through the school setting.

As part of our Early Help offer, the school is using the Thrive Approach and have licenced practitioners throughout school who deliver this provision to the children and their families.

Early Help services aim to provide advice and/or intervene where there is evidence of emerging needs with the objective of preventing escalation to higher level services.

WHAT IS EARLY HELP?

Sometimes families need a little extra support, and getting help early can make a real difference. Early Help is available for children and young people of all ages and aims to provide support as soon as concerns arise, before difficulties become bigger challenges.

Support can come from a range of services and organisations working together with you and your family. You may already be receiving help from some of these services, but Early Help ensures that the right support is in place to meet your family's individual needs and help everyone achieve the best possible outcomes.

Family Liaison Officer

Mrs Clemens is the school's Family Liaison Officer (FLO) and Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO). These roles go hand in hand, as both focus on ensuring children and families receive the right support to help them thrive.

As Family Liaison Officer, Mrs Clemens works with children, parents and carers to identify needs and access support at an early stage. As SENCO, she oversees provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). Her combined role allows her to work closely with families, staff and external agencies to ensure that every child receives the support they need.

WHY WOULD A FAMILY NEED EARLY HELP?

It could be that you’re worried about your child’s health, development or behaviour, or perhaps because you are caring for a disabled child; it could also be that your child is affected by domestic abuse, drugs or alcohol. Your child might be a carer for other people.
